DR. MARK G. HOLMES – DES MOINES OPTOMETRIST

Mark G. Holmes, O.D. received his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Indiana School of Optometry in Bloomington, Indiana. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology from Iowa State University. Dr. Holmes is a member of the Iowa Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association and Beta Sigma Kappa. During his collegiate studies, he was also involved in the Indiana University Optometric Student Association and was the student body liaison for the Optical Laboratories Association at Indiana University.

Dr. Holmes has extensive optometry experience, including LASIK laser eye surgery post-operative care and the management and treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, age-related eye pathologies, low vision and diabetic eye disease. He has worked in private practice providing family eye care in central Iowa since 1996 and has been seeing patients of all ages at Wolfe Eye Clinic since 2003.

Dr. Holmes enjoys treating various eye conditions and helping his patients. He chose to be an optometrist because of how important good vision is in maintaining a high quality of life. Outside of work, you will find Dr. Holmes spending time outdoors, golfing, gardening, and fishing. He also enjoys attending his children’s sporting events and woodworking.
