Dr. Anne Langguth Receives 2021 HER Women of Achievement Award

Wolfe Eye Clinic is proud to announce one of our very own ophthalmologists, Dr. Anne Langguth, has been selected as a 2021 HER Women of Achievement honoree. This award recognizes women in business throughout Eastern Iowa who have had a positive impact in their local communities they serve and who have demonstrated incredible leadership throughout the year. Out of over 50 nominations Dr. Langguth’s leadership, her passion working with children’s vison, and her advocacy for both physicians and families seeking access to care paved the way to one of twelve women who received the HER Women of Achievement award this year. The award winners are being celebrated June 17-23rd and you can learn more about them on the HER website.

Dr. Langguth is the first board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist to serve the Cedar Rapids community. She grew up and now resides back in Iowa City after receiving her Bachelor Degree in Government and Health Policy from Harvard University, her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, and completing her post-graduate medical and surgical sub-specialty training at New York University in New York. Dr. Langguth followed her degree accomplishments with an ophthalmology residency at Northwestern University in Chicago and at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Langguth sees patients with Wolfe Eye Clinic in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Iowa City, as a pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus specialist. Prior to her joining Wolfe Eye Clinic in 2019, children and families did not have access to her type of care locally. She provides care for patients with childhood eye disorders or eye problems, as well as strabismus in adults and children and also provides sight-saving medical and surgical treatments to children throughout Eastern Iowa. In addition, Dr. Langguth paved the way for Wolfe Eye Clinic Hiawatha to be certified as a site for Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group which is dedicated in clinical research in strabismus, amblyopia and other eye disorders that affect children. In her free time, she volunteers her time with the Distinguished Young Women program of Iowa and the Harvard Admissions Committee to encourage and promote careers in STEM for women.

Congratulations to Dr. Anne Langguth for this outstanding honor. You can watch her bio video here, or read more about her on our website.
