John P. Ferrell, OD


John P. Ferrell, O.D. received his Doctorate of Optometry degree in 1997 from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in biology in 1993 from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, graduating cum laude. A native to Webster City, Iowa, Dr. John P. Ferrell graduated from Webster City High School and currently resides and provides optometric care and services in his home town to patients in all surrounding areas.

As a family eye care provider, Dr. Ferrell provides routine assessments of the visual system for people of nearly all ages. He is primarily involved with the prescribing of glasses, fitting of contact lenses, and treatment and management of acute and chronic diseases of the eye and adjacent tissues. He routinely provides care for patients with cataracts, diabetes, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. He also manages patients with allergies, infections, foreign bodies, flashes and floaters, and other reasons for eye discomfort or changes in vision.

Dr. Ferrell is a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Iowa Optometric Association. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family and friends, working on home improvement projects and being outdoors.
