The Belmond eye doctor office was founded in 1949 by Paul Rietz, O.D. and he was joined in practice by James Snively, O.D. and later in the 1980s by David Gildner, O.D. Dr. Gildner proudly acquired the office after Dr. Rietz’s retirement in 1986 and practiced with Dr. Snively until his retirement. Dr. Gildner and his staff merged with Wolfe Eye Clinic in 2022 and continue to serve the surrounding areas.
David E. Gildner, O.D. received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois.
