EVO ICL in Iowa

If you are looking for another refractive option to reduce the need for glasses or contacts, look no further. For the right candidate, the EVO ICL, also called an Implantable Collamer® Lens, is a refractive implant that can correct common vision issues like myopia (nearsightedness) with or without astigmatism. Unlike some vision correction options, the EVO ICL is an additive technology that corrects vision without the removal of any corneal tissue. This recent FDA approval of EVO Implantable Collamer Lens brings another option for an estimated 100 million U.S. adults ages 21 to 45 are that are potential candidates for the implantable lens that corrects distance vision according to STAAR Surgical Company.

In May of 2022, our very own Dr. Matthew Rauen had the opportunity to place Iowa's FIRST EVO Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) for Wolfe Eye

Clinic patient, Carolina. The EVO lens provided correction for her myopia and was deemed
a great option in helping Carolina to reach her vision goals. Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is the most common vision disorder in individuals around the world and many of those patients aspire for vision correction in the distance. According to the American Optometric Association, 30% of the U.S. population is affected
by myopia.
