David D. Saggau, M.D., received his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1984. An ophthalmology residency was completed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He served as chief resident and assistant professor at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago.
In 1990, he completed a retinal fellowship with Cleveland Retina Associates. Since then, Dr. Saggau has been in eye care practice at Wolfe Eye Clinic as a retinal specialist, focusing on diabetic eye disorders, macular degeneration and surgical repair of the retina. He has been with Wolfe Eye Clinic since 1990.
Dr. Saggau decided to become an ophthalmologist during his third year in medical school.

When he is not working at Wolfe Eye Clinic, he spends time with his family. He is married and has four children.
