Thomas R. Munger, O.D.

Dr. Thomas Munger is an optometrist for Wolfe Eye Clinic in Iowa. Dr. Munger provides treatment and management of acute and chronic eye diseases such as “red eyes”, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and foreign body removal.

Dr. Thomas Munger, originally from Fremont, Nebraska, graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed a post-doctoral residency in Family Practice Optometry West Tennessee Eye in Memphis. In addition to providing comprehensive vision care, Dr. Munger gained extensive experience in the medical management of diseases of the eye such as glaucoma and diabetic eye disease during his residency. Before becoming an eye doctor, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in biology from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska.

His experiences and accomplishments include instructing an Advanced Ophthalmic Practice class for the use and interpretation of Fundus Photography and Ultrasonography and co-instructing for the Southern College of Optometry.

In addition to routine eye care services such as annual examinations, eyeglasses and contact lens fittings; Dr. Munger provides treatment and management of acute and chronic eye diseases such as “red eyes”, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and foreign body removal.

Dr. Munger is a member of the American Optometric Association, the American Association of Optometry, the Tennessee Optometric Association and the Nebraska Optometric Association.
