Douglas Casady, M.D., F.A.C.S., came to Wolfe Eye Clinic from his fellowship at the Lions Eye Institute, Albany Medical College, in Albany, New York. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Casady completed his residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital, Texas A&M University College of Medicine, where he was Chief Resident in 2002 and 2003. Dr. Casady completed his doctorate of medicine at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He also holds a master of science degree from Creighton University and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Dr. Casady is a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the American Board of Ophthalmology, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has participated in eye care-related medical mission work in the Domican Republic and he spent three months on the faculty at the American University of the Caribbean, teaching anatomy while he was in medical school. During his fellowship, he also received the Golden Apple award for teaching from the residents at Albany Medical College.
