Shanna R. Studer, OD is an experienced comprehensive optometrist who focuses on family eye-care in Humboldt, Iowa. She has special interests in adult and pediatric family eye care services including InfantSEE® eye exams, prescribing eyewear, contact lenses, and monitoring ocular diseases.
Dr. Studer was born and raised in Iowa and received her Bachelor of Science, Biology degree from Wartburg College with a minor in Psychology and her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. After schooling, Dr. Studer completed multiple externships at the Illinois Eye Institute in Illinois, Omaha Eye and Laser Institute in Nebraska, Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota in Minnesota and James H. Quillen –VAMC in Tennessee.
Dr. Studer is an active member of the Iowa Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She has gained experience in proper management of pre- and post-operative care especially in cataract surgery, has immeasurable clinical experience in contact lens fittings such as spherical, toric, multifocal, and monovision along with gas permeable lenses. Dr. Studer also has experience in pediatric eye exams and experience in complex ocular diseases and disorders.
Dr. Studer and her husband reside in Livermore. Outside of work, in her free time she enjoys traveling, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
