David J. Massop, MD is a board-certified surgeon and fellowship trained retina specialist who treats patients in our Ankeny, Marshalltown, Fort Dodge and West Des Moines office locations. Dr. Massop joined the professional staff at Wolfe Eye Clinic in 2022.
Dr. Massop received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Environmental Science at Saint Louis University. He went on to pursue his medical degree at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska followed by an internship with Unity Point Health, Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Most recently, Dr. Massop completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas before entering the fellowship program at Wolfe Eye Clinic in 2020. Dr. Massop started the fellowship program in 2020 and quickly became an important asset to the retina care of patients in our West Des Moines office, a cheerful addition to our staff, and a friend to many. He looks forward to continuing his career at Wolfe Eye Clinic and meeting many new patients to come!
Dr. Massop is a native of Des Moines, Iowa and out side of work, you might find him, his wife and three children spending time being outdoors as a family.
