Mark D. Meyer, MD is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in medical treatments for many eye diseases and conditions. Dr. Meyer spent 22 years at North Iowa Eye Clinic in Mason City where he managed eye disorders and performed thousands of cataract surgeries during his time. Dr. Meyer joined Wolfe Eye Clinic in the fall of 2023 and serves patients at our Ames, Ankeny, Carroll and Fort Dodge office locations.
Dr. Meyer is a native to Iowa and attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended the University of Iowa where he received a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, and continued his education by receiving a medical degree in 1997. Dr. Meyer completed his ophthalmology training by performing an ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin in 2001.
Dr. Meyer will be managing complex medical patients including those with glaucoma and anterior segment disorders. This will include a wide array of in office procedures for lid lesions, YAG capsulotomies and laser treatments for glaucoma. While no longer preforming cataract surgeries, Dr. Meyer looks forward to serving patients in central Iowa. Beyond patient care, Dr. Meyer enjoys spending time with his wife and kids along with fishing and gardening.
