Gregory A. Christiansen, MD
DR. GREGORY A. CHRISTIANSEN – DES MOINES AND MARSHALLTOWN GLAUCOMA AND CATARACT SPECIALIST
Gregory A. Christiansen, MD is a board-certified fellowship trained glaucoma specialist whose focus includes cataract surgery and the medical and surgical management of glaucoma disease. Dr. Christiansen will join Wolfe Eye Clinic in June and see patients at our West Des Moines and Marshalltown office locations.
Dr. Christiansen graduated with his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Utah followed by an internship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Mayo Clinic, in Rochester Minnesota where he was named Chief Resident. Dr. Christiansen enhanced his skills and training further by completing a Glaucoma Fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and has been practicing since 2005, most recently in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dr. Christiansen grew up in a small town in Utah and enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, camping, tennis, and hiking. He loves to travel with his wife and four kids and enjoys animals, especially dogs and horses. Having previously lived in Minnesota during residency, he is looking forward to relocating to Iowa and meeting many new patients at Wolfe Eye Clinic.
