Jake R. Haberman, O.D. received his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa where he was a student athlete in football. A four-time varsity letter earner, Jake was elected as Team Captain by his peers during senior year. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Following his course work, Dr. Haberman completed multiple externships including time at Mountain Eyeworks in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and the James H. Quillen Veterans Administration Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Dr. Haberman, originally from Clarion, and his wife, originally from Webster City, grew up as patients of the Wolfe Family Vision Center in Webster City. In fact, Dr. Haberman credits Dr. Jim Tesdahl and staff for being one of the reasons he went into the field of Optometry. Dr. Haberman provides both routine family eye care services as well as the treatment and medical management of many eye diseases. He has special interest in working with specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses and enjoys helping patients suffering with dry eye. Dr. Haberman enjoys listening to his patient’s goals and looking for ways to help them achieve the very best vision possible.
Dr. Haberman and his wife are excited to return to Iowa to serve friends, family, and neighbors in the community they grew up in. In his free time, you might find Dr. Haberman biking, skiing, hiking, boating, or doing just about anything outdoors. An avid attender of sporting events, Dr. Haberman enjoys watching wrestling and cheering on all of Iowa’s teams!
